Sony's PlayStation Store Summer Sale 2023 has officially started. Each year, Sony provides massive price cuts and discounts on many titles in the PlayStation store, and this year is no different. From first-party to third-party games, a lot is available with huge discounts, and even recently released ones are expected to be part of the giant sale.

While the company regularly puts out various sale events throughout the year such as Sony's Days of Play, the Summer Sale is one of the biggest, and among those which are sought out by fans. The PlayStation Store Summer Sale often runs for a few weeks and gives a more extensive selection of titles for a better rate than normal, allowing players to get their money's worth when looking for purchases.

Sony's PlayStation Store Summer Sale starts on July 19 and will end on August 16. However, some titles will only be discounted until August 2. With more than 3,000 deals up for grabs, PS users will need to carefully assess and sweep the selections, as many games and content will be included. Sony-exclusive games such as The Last of Us 1 Part 1, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition, The Last of Us Part 2, and Horizon: Forbidden West are on the list of discounted titles players can purchase. Except for The Last of Us Part 1, the aforementioned games have their price slashed up to 50%. However, with The Last of Us Part 1's rave reviews, users may still want to buy the title at its 29% discounted rate.

Upon browsing the store, fans may be surprised to find that the sale is more third-party-focused than first-party-focused. Titles such as Yakuza: Like A Dragon, Titanfall 2, Little Nightmares 1 & 2 Bundle, Deathloop, and Marvel's Midnight Suns are receiving more than 50% off, which are great deals to consider. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a part of the now-controversial Call of Duty franchise, is also included in this year's sale. Those who haven't purchased yet, but are looking to dive just in time for Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty DLC, may also buy the base game at half the price.

Best-selling titles such as Hogwarts Legacy and Elden Ring are among the biggest third-party titles which grace the sale line-up. Perhaps to help prepare for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1, Mortal Kombat 11 is currently available at $4.99, which is a 90% discount on its original price. Many non-Sony-exclusive titles fans may have been wanting to buy could be part of the year's Summer Sale. PS5 users who have items in their wishlist will be notified should any be part of the current Summer Sale. Ideally, it's best to check the notifications for any deals or just go to the PlayStation Store immediately, as the deals are officially live.
